Amazons are probably one of the best talkers, next to a Grey. Amazons are bold, not shy around strangers. They will talk in front of a room full of people. They are acrobats in their cage. Amazons love to swing upside down and sing. Yes, SING! My double yellowhead Gabby can carry a tune better than I can. They tend to be hearty eaters, too. They are not afraid to try new foods and will pretty much eat anything you give them. That's why you see so many overweight Amazons. Too much of a good thing isn't so good. And yes, they do tend to go through that hormonal change at about 2 years old or so in spring. But I really haven't experienced that with my Gabby. Amazons are one of my best sellers. They are all around a great pet, easy going, nothing really tends to stress them out, not known to be feather pickers, and they are excellent talkers.
