5. Our babies are weaned onto a vet-recommended diet consisting of a cooked "bean mix." We cook for our babies, and it shows. Our babies are more eager to try new foods and tend to weigh more when weaned.

7. We shower all our birds. As soon as a baby is weaned, we start giving them showers. Every baby receives a nice, relaxing shower before leaving our store. You should continue this practice in your own home. Showering is a very important part of the bird's psychological well being, not to mention their physical appearance. They look fantastic, and it really helps keep their feathers in tip top shape. No soap needed, just warm water.
